Prayers of Thanks - Good Weekend in Several Ways

This weekend, our senior mobile home community (430+ homes) had their Fall Park Wide Yard Sale. We have one in the Spring, too. I have so much stuff to get rid of but I also need every penny I can get. That means I do these twice a year.

In April, I was very sore and stiff by the time Friday morning arrived for the first day. By Sunday afternoon, the end, I was really in pain, but I managed to do the tear-down anyhow. It took me a week to recover and walk without pain.

This time, I paced myself differently plus I’ve lost weight over these six months and my health has improved. Things went fairly well, physically, and I even managed to tear it all down without major pain. That was yesterday. I am just a bit achy but not bad. It’s amazing and it’s something I am very grateful for.

Money-wise, I didn’t pull in a million, of course. But what I did sell brought in funds that I didn’t have before. Plus, I needed to get rid of those things, anyway, and I needed whatever they would bring. It will help a little with my monthly short-fall. I’m hoping it won’t need to go for a car repair - I noticed a new oil leak over the past few days.

Tomorrow, I finish up. I need to pack a box or two for Safe Nest (for abused women re-starting their lives) and set some aside for Freecycle (I’ve mentioned them before) offers. I do have a few things I still want to sell. Our park has a monthly newsletter and I can put personals in there for those things, and just leave the listings there until they sell. And I need to put 4 folding tables and the dolly back into the shed.

When you are doing a yard sale, you have a lot of idle time. I was happy to finish 3 hats and 3 pairs of fingerless gloves for our charity crafting efforts for the local homeless.

Father, there are so many things that worked out this weekend for which I need to give thanks. Thank you for the funds and guide me as to which bill to apply them to. Thanks for the time to make some more things for your local needy. And thank you for helping me get through it in far better physical condition than last time. I am so grateful. If possible, help me in your own way with that oil leak.
