Some Prayers Answered on Earlier Prayer Request

Back on 8/24 (link here) and 8/26 (link here), we asked for prayers for multiple folks in a friend's family. I have an update now and some of these prayer requests have been answered.

Heart condition: the person with the heart condition had heart surgery and is doing well with that.

Cancer condition: the person with the cancer has it in the kidney and still needs prayers very strongly.

Covid19: the person with this was fortunate enough to qualify for plasma treatments, is recovering very well and has been sent home to recover further without need of a rehab faciltiy.

Thank you all so much for your prayers! And thank you for continuing to pray for others who you do not even know. That is an amazing act of kindness.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing our prayers for this group of people and for helping in several ways already. Please continue to send your healing and compassion and help where it is still needed. We trust in you!

Another Prayer Answered

Back on June 28 (see post here), we asked for prayers for a friend's great grandson who was airlifted from Santa Fe to another city with better pediatric facilities with the fear that he was having seizures.

I heard from my friend with these encouraging words:
"He's doing better. They said he has what's called Brue. His mom has to keep an eye on him, making sure that he's breathing is stable. If you see him, you couldn't tell anything is wrong with him. Thank you and everybody that prayed for him. I still have a couple of candles burning. About a week ago my son-in-law got a heart attack, he is also doing better. Again thank you and everybody else that prayed for the baby."

We are all always encouraged by knowing favorable outcomes from bad situations. When it's a child, especially one so young, it's even more uplifting.

Sweet Lord Jesus, you have always made it plain how much you care for the little ones. Thank you for helping this baby and his family with this concern. And please bless all those who prayed on the baby's behalf!

Kind Words from Friend About Prayers Answered

Back on June 12, in this post link, we asked for prayers for a friend's cousin Tommy. Today I received this in an email, thanking us for the prayers, but even more kind is the way she thinks of those who sent up prayers for him...

"My cousin Diane thanked us for the prayers for her brother, Tom.  He is doing much better and is now eating more.  She said she thinks we have a direct line to God.  Our little prayer group is really helping."

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing the prayers of those for Tommy. Many of those who prayed have worries of their own but took a moment to care about someone they didn't even know. Please bless those who pray for others in whatever ways they need most. We realize not all our prayers can be answered but we thank you for those which were. We trust in you.

Update on Prayer Request for Friend's Aunt

Back on 5/31 (at this link), I asked for prayers for a friend whose aunt was in ICU because her COPD and related issues were even causing weeping from openings on her leg.

I'm so happy to share with you that her aunt is not only out of ICU, but back at her home with some family folks who flew in to help with her recuperation.

We don't always get feedback about our prayers so it's always heartwarming when we do hear of good outcomes. My friend is very grateful for the prayers.

Sweet Lord Jesus, once again, we come to thank you for hearing our prayers for someone in need. Thank you for your healing and for help for this woman while she is recuperating. And please bless all those who sent prayers her way and bless them abundantly. We trust in you.

More Prayers Answered on Neighbor's Broken Leg

Back on April 20th (link here) and again on May 16th (here), I talked about the neighbor who goes to MI each summer and broke her leg her first few days there in mid-April. Along the way, I have been worrying because of lack of feedback from her and/or her husband that perhaps something worse was going on. I feared that along their travel from NV to MI, she might have contracted C19.

Today I did finally get an in-depth email from her. For some odd reason, I had completely overlooked the fact that she had broken her femur, the upper leg bone, the one in the thigh. To me, it is far more difficult to adjust to post-surgery for that than for the lower leg bone. Add to that her age, 70, and her sciatica issues. She is staying at her son's, 25 mi from the RV park her hubby manages in the summer, and is having home therapy 4 days per week.
She is trying to learn to walk again, using a walker and beginning to learn to use a cane. It is still painful deep inside her leg where the broken bone is pinned together. She has a primary care doc appt. on Thu. and is hoping for some pain meds.

She hopes to go back to her hubby and their RV this coming weekend. He drives several days a week back and forth after his work day and on weekends. She also misses their 2 fur babies.

For now, I thank you all so much for your prayers. I feel much relieved. I am sorry for her pain but at least it's not fatal as C19 could have been.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you so much for your compassion and mercy in watching over this woman, her husband, and the fur babies. Please continue to hold them in your heart and help her to heal more quickly than we might expect and bless her with a doctor who understands her age and condition and her pain level. We trust in you.

Prayers Answered on Neighbor's Broken Leg & Other Issues

Back on April 20, 2020, at this link, I updated on a prayer request from the week before about a neighbor who summers in another state and got there and broke her leg within 2 days of arriving.

I've had a hard time getting feedback. Her hubby works there in the summer, managing the RV park and is very busy plus while she is laid up, he's caring for the 2 cats, and traveling miles to try to see her which of course wasn't allowed.

Long story short: I heard from HER today via email. She's out of the hospital, surgery staples are out, and she is temporarily staying at her son's home which is about 25 miles from the RV park. I suspect that because of her sciatica, she's at risk in the tiny RV until she is stable on that leg. But for me, the good news was that she IS out of the hospital, that she will go home to him and the fur babies as soon as able.

I wanted to thank each of you who sent up prayers along the way. You are each in my own heart and prayers because I know so many of you have issues of your own to deal with.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you from the bottom of my heart that my neighbor is out of the hospital. Thank you for your compassion and healing and mercy. We trust in you.

Update on Earlier Prayer Request

Back on April 24, I asked for prayers for a friend's son with foot troubles (see link here). Happy to say he is responding well to the antibiotics given him. Wound is no longer leaking, no more throbbing... moving along. My prayers will continue until fully healed... thank you, each of you, for caring and saying a wee prayer along the way.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing our prayers and helping him. You heal the sick and you bless us in your compassion. We trust in you.

Answers to Some Recent Prayers - Updates

We don't always know the outcome of our prayers but because we have faith, we pray anyway. So, it's nice when we know they are often answered.

The little baby born so little and struggling - she is still struggling, she had another blood transfusion recently because her oxygen level was so low but the good news is that she has gained a little weight, to start with she was 1 lbs. 12 oz. She now weighs 2 lbs. 11 oz.

My sis-in-law's surgery for diverticulitis - the surgery went well today and she did not need the colostomy which was a possibility.

My car is fixed and I pick it up tomorrow.

For these and all our prayer requests, thank you all for your prayers for folks you do not even know. There are many of you in even worse situations and yet continue to pray for others. Bless you all!

My Friend Just Passed On

Thank you all, each of you, for the prayers for her and her family. This will be brief. It is sad on one hand because I feel for the family and what they are going through dealing with the loss, and I am relieved on the other hand because I do not think she would have wanted to have lingered any longer in that condition. It is what it is. I'm happy to have known her.

Sweet Lord Jesus, take care of this sweet soul but also, please send comfort to those left behind. Help them to pick themselves up and move forward, carrying with them all that they loved about her. We trust in you.

My Eyes - Thank You All For Your Prayers

Mixed results today but not really bad ones. The quick result is that they did not have to inject anything into my right eye - at this time.

But I must see him again in 4 weeks, and if there is no change, no bleeding back there, he might extend the next checkup out further. Seems this will be an ongoing, for -the-rest-of-my-life routine but hey, I need my eyesight. Without it, in my situation, I end up in 1/2 or 1/3 of a room in a nursing home. I promise to be a good girl and see him whenever I need to.

The dye injection went so well - I happen to have a great vein in the crook of my right arm for blood draws. That's the one they used to inject the dye. This dude was very good. Never felt the stick. They said to expect some queasiness and even possibly active nausea, but I only had momentary dizziness for a split second when we finished and I stood up.

Now, about those possible future injections. I'm not as fearful as I was before this visit. I chatted with a young woman who has had them often in the past few years because her diabetes messed up her eyes. She told me they cover the face except for the eye, they clean the eye (it will feel "sandy" or "gritty" for the next few hours), and then tell you to look to one side, and they sneakily inject you from the other side... she says she has never honestly felt real pain.

I did finally manage to ask the right question about the condition of my eyes. Turns out my left eye has "dry macular degeneration" which could possibly, probably, progress to the "wet" kind, which is more troublesome. The gray spot in the center of my vision has not noticeably grown in the past few years. My right eye has the wet kind and that's the one they will be watching very carefully.

Thank you all for your kindness in saying a prayer for me. I think it all went very well, considering. And I now know exactly what I'm facing in the future.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing the prayers of these folks. Please look kindly upon them and bless them for caring about others. And thank you for a reasonably easy session at the retina specialist. We trust in you.

Updates on Earlier Prayer Requests

While tossing aside my silly fears over my upcoming eye angiogram and its possible results, I thought I'd update you on folks who have needed your prayers fairly recently.

Friend with multiple cancers: this gal is somehow managing to get through this. She finally had the last radiation on her brain, has a few more on her tummy then a cat scan on both. She has another chemo coming up within the next week or so. The doctor said it may take several months to start regaining strength because both radiation and chemo are affecting it as well as being tired all the time. It's a long journey but she is determined to make it. Determination aside, I'm trying to make sure she also has lots of hugs and love and prayers to ease the journey!

Friend beginning dialysis: this gal's home finally qualified for in-home dialysis equipment setup and she has begun those 4 hour sessions. She is finding the "waiting and sitting" during the treatments to be her biggest hurdle at the moment. She and her hubby are always active, especially outside in what they lovingly call a garden and I insist must be a farm. Normally she'd spend downtime by making hats for our group on her "knitting loom" but I don't think she can do it during the treatments. She, too, needs hugs and love and prayers to ease the way.

Brother's cancer issues: my brother just had a checkup after that kidney cancer surgery and those prostate radiation treatments. His doc says so far, so good, and wants to see him again in six months. He's optimistic, as am I and his wife.

Sweet Lord Jesus, for the continued forward progress, no matter how slow, for these folks, I thank you for all your help. Please bless abundantly all those praying for these folks. And please continue to bless and heal and comfort and strengthen these people who need your help so much. We trust in you.

Grateful for my own Blessings but Praying for Others

So very grateful that my A/C is finally working again. Those 3 days of the indoors here being between 85 and, late today, even up to 98 - they were tough. I am happy the contractor found the trouble and fixed in one afternoon. Silkie is recuperating. I am recuperating. And I have a lot to catch up on here at home where it was too hot to do anything physical.

But because it was so hot in here, especially in the back where the PC is, I didn't get online enough to get to all the news about my friends. As bad as it was for me, friends were dealing with worse.

One dealt with an abscessed tooth - one pain I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Another is facing even more reconstructive surgery on her one foot - between the pain and the upcoming surgeries, she is trying to hold on.

Another has always had severe migraines but this latest lasted 11 brutal weeks.

There are the others, the one with cancer, the other facing long-term dialysis at home, another constantly seeing one doctor or another and dealing with angiograms and more, and there are some I have not yet caught up with.

Sweet Lord Jesus, I am grateful for your blessing in getting our A/C working. So grateful. Along the way, please glance at the lives of those I just mentioned and the others I have not caught up with. And those who have ongoing, long-term medical and emotional issues. Watch over them; heal them in whatever way they each need. We trust in you.

Thanks for Prayers on Recent Requests

Thank you for your prayers; here's an update on the recent requests.

On the friend's cousin in hospice: my friend's beloved cousin has safely crossed over. Two days ago, I asked for prayers for that purpose, for quick and gentle passing. My friend notified me that her cousin passed on today. I am sorry for her loss but grateful that the suffering ended. Thanks, each of you.

On the friend who has lost faith: this will be an ongoing, possibly long-time need. But for now, I am keeping conversations comfy and casual. I think at the moment, she needs someone to just listen and emails are something that do not intrude into my day, so hopefully, it will be a comfort to her. Again, thanks, each of you.

I have so many friends who are depressed, coupled with their medical issues. Please, each of you, remember that you are always in my heart and prayers.

Father, thank you for hearing the prayers of folks who do not even know the person they are praying for. To me, this is the ultimate gift of faith - bless each of these prayer angels abundantly!

Silkie's Vet Visit

The visit went well, considering. Thank you all for your prayers. They trimmed her nails and did a visual exam of those broken canines. The vet agreed that the most practical action was to remove all 4. However, her weight makes surgery risky at the moment.

She was 13 lbs. in Jan. 2013 when we brought her in from the shelter at 1-1/2 years old. She is now 22 lbs. He explained how much to cut her food. And she is not allowed any Temptations treats except for the hairball ones. That's the only hairball med she will take. So instead of 6 in the rolling purple ball at night, her go-to-bed action fun, there will only be 3, but I'll toss in some food-kibbles, just a few.

We hope to get her down to 14 lbs. by mid-December, and then do the surgery. Along the way, IF the teeth cause her any trouble at all, with eating, etc., I'm to bring her in ASAP.

So she and I had a talk today when we got home. I'm going to cut back on my treats, too. I sort of went into binge-mode after my usual Lenten chocolate fast. Now, she likes treats in little lids I scatter throughout the house. But now, instead of Temptations, I'll just put a few kibbles, within her daily limit, and I think she will be okay with that. She just loves finding it.

This vet office is definitely one I wish I had begun to use earlier. I like their attitude, their compassion, patience, and expertise.

They want her down to 1/2 cup kibble a day; she normally does at least a cup a day. So, I'll do a cup through Sunday night, but now I will measure it instead of eyeballing the amount. Then next week, go down to 3/4 cup, and the following week, the 1/2 cup.

She doesn't drink water so to keep her hydrated, I take a can of pate cat food, mix it with a lot of water, and put a few spoons of the "broth" in a bowl off and on throughout the day. He'd like her off that eventually and suggested I put a few additional bowls of water in various areas in the house.
So, at least we know where we stand, and it isn't as bad as it might have been. And Silkie and I have both known this "day of the diet" would come. Neither of us like it, but we will do it.
Thanks again, folks, for your prayers!

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for your help this morning. We are so grateful. Help us to do this right, with the least difficulty possible, and please bless those who said a wee prayer for us this morning!

Some Prayers Answered - Thank You, Each of You

Almost 2 weeks ago, I asked for prayers for a friend whose cousin is now in hospice in another state and she wanted badly to make it back for a quick visit to see her one more time. They grew up together, for the most part. The wonderful news is that she did make it there in time and has returned, feeling better now that she has at least seen the situation for herself. She knows her cousin is in good hands with this hospice care. I'll continue to pray, of course, that her cousin has a quiet and easy passing when the time comes, but I want to thank you all for your prayers.

Along the way, I'll update you with this - my brother just finished his 3rd of 8 weeks of radiation for the prostate cancer... so far so good, no transportation problems or other problems. Again, thanks for your prayers.

Sweet Lord Jesus, please continue to keep my friend and her cousin in mind, and my brother as well. Please look lovingly upon folks who pray for others even when they do not know them, and bless those loving souls abundantly for their compassion. We trust in you.

Thank You for Favor Received

Many thanks, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, all the angels and saints, and especially Our Lady, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Jude, for recent favor received.

You understand, Father, why I'm not going into details but I am really grateful for your help. I know I pulled out all the stops in my prayer routine for this one, so I had to at least acknowledge your help...

Thank you again.

Update On Your Prayers for my Brother

Off and on, I update you on my brother with his Stage 2 kidney cancer and Stage 1 prostate cancer. You all know they did surgery on the kidney about a month ago. Today I got an email from him, as follows:

"Went 4 follow up scan 4 kidney cancer and it came back clear; next scan abut 3-4 months YEA!"

Thank you, each of you, for your continued prayers. Please know that you are all in my heart and prayers, as well.

Sweet Lord Jesus, healer, thank you for your help and your blessings in this matter. :Please continue to glance my brother's way and keep him on a healing path. And please bless all those who say prays for folks they do not even know, and bless them abundantly.

Special Thank You

We had very strong and steady rain last night for several hours, from around 9 through about 1 in the morning. I slept very lightly, wondering if we managed to patch the appropriate spot on the roof last month. Twice during the night, I made a bathroom stop, dropped a few kibbles off for the furry one, and found it hard to fall back asleep. I prayed, of course.

But faith is an odd thing. We can really believe in Him and his help. We can really believe in prayers being answered. But we are still human and there is still that little nagging background feeling of fear or worry or concern in our minds.

Happy to say that in the morning, after my gazillionth check of the former leak area in the pantry ceiling, all appeared to be dry. I really wanted to get up there and feel it, just to be sure, but I don't trust myself even on a 3-step stool these days.

Thank you, Sweet Lord Jesus, for hearing my prayers. Thank you for providing me with a low-cost fix last month. It's been over 3 years since my really major patch job. But these old coated roofs on older mobile homes are prone to this sort of thing. I am very very grateful. I promised you last night that I would post my thanks publicly, and I am doing just that.  Jesus, I trust in you!

Update on My Brother's Kidney Cancer Surgery

Thank you all, each and every one of you, for your prayers. He went in for the outpatient surgery Wednesday. They had a long drive to the facility and he was concerned. My brother is 75 and has NEVER undergone anesthesia or surgery or hospitalization, even outpatient, in all those years. He was worried about that. And he was worried that if they needed to keep him, his wife would need to drive that distance home in their old truck, alone, and pray she got home before dark and that the truck didn't act up.

Surgery, according to the surgeon, went well! He'll get another scan in a few weeks just to make sure there isn't something else lurking there.

And as soon as he can, he'll get to the other doc and discuss getting off the hormones for the Stage 1 prostate cancer and try other options.

Sweet Lord Jesus, the healer, our Savior, thank you so much for hearing and acting upon the prayers of these good people. Thank you for helping my kid brother. And please, please look favorably upon people who pray for others - bless them abundantly. We trust in you!

Update on Recent Prayer Request - Thank you!

A little while ago, I asked for prayers for a dear friend's husband whose body had swollen to a frightening degree. Today, she wrote that they were finally taking him home from the hospital - her words:

"We are just on our way home from the hospital. he was so swollen from the waist down that he couldn't even walk. They gave him enough lasiks to bring it down. He had liquid around the heart. Thank God and your prayers. He is doing much better now."

Thank you, dear prayer angels, for your help. For now, he is doing well.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for this healing for now. We are all very grateful. And please bless those who said heartfelt prayers for someone they didn't even know - bless them abundantly. We trust in you!
