Four days later, I posted that I felt concerned that I had tried a little people-food to tempt little Sam and that he seemed to be eating a bit at that point. Again, I mentioned that I hoped the Lord wouldn't mind my praying on this issue, small as the matter was in the scheme of the world's issues today.
Tonight, I really need to share with you that for the past few days, Sam has been eating a little more each day. I think I finally have him where I only need to give him a tablespoon of canned chunk chicken in one small dish, and his canned cat food in another. He is definitely eating more than he was a week ago.
Obviously, God is answering my prayers for Sam. My neighbor returns midnight this coming Wednesday and Sam will then be back to normal. The past few days, his "motor" has turned on, as well, and he has begun "fluffing" me while sitting in my lap. "Fluffing" was the way a dear friend in southern CA once explained the kneading process to her pre-schooler. I loved that phrase and it has become part of our vocabulary when it comes to feline behavior.
Anyway, I had to share with you about the answered prayers. I hesitated to mention it the past few days, just in case Sam reverted back to not eating. But even if he does, at least for a few days he has been getting some nutrition into him.
Dear, Sweet Lord, thank you for your love for all your creatures, and especially for your compassion for Samson. Please continue to bless us this way, so that when my neighbor returns, his kitty will be a little stronger than that first week of his "buddy's" absence. I place this cause in your hands.
