Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas - 121 Sayings To Go With Simple Gifts

This is a treasure. Take something as simple as popcorn, bath items, angels, oranges or stuffed animals, add an appropriate saying from this list, and you have a quick, inexpensive, but special gift. This idea for our ongoing series (9/21-12/24) of handmade Christmas gift ideas is sure to give you a few dozen ideas you can have fun putting together.
These are posted at Budget101 under Gag Gifts but honestly, many of these are really nice, thoughtful and economical gifts. The little sayings are what make the gift memorable. Check out the list here.

The ones I especially liked are (and you've got to go there to see the saying; I'm not spoiling it by putting it here):

9. Microwave Popcorn and 2-liter of soda
32. Grater & Cheese
36. Basket of Bath Items
52. Box of Hostess Ho-Ho's
54. Christmas Tray
87. Anything Angel
88. Gingerbread House
101. Fudge
114. Plant
115. Stuffed animal
119. Squeeze-It Juice drink & a Hershey's Kiss

See what I mean? Quite a few of these are truly nice gifts but the added touch of the cute or clever or lovely saying is what will make the item stand out. For instance, any angel-themed gift, with the saying from this list, makes that gift special. Likewise, popcorn or a gingerbread house become memorable with the right words on a tag.

This is NOT a collection of gag gift sayings. Most items would make nice token gifts for those folks you want to remember but you do not want to overpower with too overwhelming a gift. They are also good for those on-the-spot gifts or oh-gee-I-almost-forgot-him/her gifts.

For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway (deadline Oct 31) for $25 in handcrafted merchandise from my Etsy store.
