Update on Request for Prayers for Patient with Lung Mass

Back on September 29, we asked for prayers for a friend's high school friend who had a lung mass they feared was cancer.

We are happy to report that they have since confirmed it is NOT cancer, but it is still serious and we ask that prayers for healing and great treatment be continued.

Sweet Lord Jesus, we thank you for easing our fears for this person in that it is not cancer. However, please hear and answer the continued prayers for a great medical team and safe resolution to this person's illness, and please bless all those who take a moment to say a wee prayer. Jesus, we trust in you!

Update on Prayer Request for Sick Child

We have been asking for prayers for little Adam for a long time, most recently at this post (link here). He has recurring seizures, he is autistic, he is 3 years old and regressing to babyhood. He was beginning to talk but has now stopped talking.

He is, however, now beginning once again to try to walk! Thank you all for your continued prayers on his behalf! And, please, if you can spare the moment, please continue them along the way.

Sweet Lord Jesus, you love the little innocent children. Look after little Adam and his struggling family. Please bless those who pray on his behalf. Jesus, we trust in you!

Update on Friend's Brother With Multiple Conditions

On the 23rd, I asked for prayers for a friend's brother with multiple medical issues (see post here). Here is the update:

He originally went in for minor back surgery and was already on Eliquis blood thinner but the hospital switched him to Coumadin/Warfarin which caused extensive bleeding requiring 6 units of blood and 5 packs of platelets and put him in critical condition.

He is up and about, now. He is doing much better. He probably will be able to get out of ICU today. Maybe home Monday.

Thank you for all your prayers. Please continue the prayers for complete healing.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you, our Healer, for hearing our prayers. Please continue to watch over him for complete healing. And bless those who took a moment to pray for him. Jesus, we trust in you!

Update on Dear Friend Who Had Hip Replacement Surgery

On the 21st, I asked for prayers for dear friend who had a hip replacement (seepost here). She is home now, and this is how she is doing:

She will be down approximately 8 wks. Surgery was 2-1/2 to 3 hrs long. Her bones were very soft and surgeon put extra screws in her hip.  She is now at home working with a walker. She will have home health care and physical therapy for a couple of wks or so. It is very sore from surgery. Cut is about 6 inch long.  Leg does not work well. Today she says she can now move around slowly with the 2 wheel walker. Home health came today

Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue the prayers for complete healing!

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you, our Healer, for hearing our prayers. Please continue to watch over her and her medical and therapy team so that her healing is even better than expected. And bless those who took a moment to pray for her. Jesus, we trust in you!

Prayers Answered on My Mammogram

Back on 3/26 (see post here), I asked for prayers for my 1st mammogram since they put me on the anti-cancer drug, Tamoxifen. I was really worried about the results.

I saw my oncologist today, and the results were "clear" which means nothing to worry about, at the moment. I will be on this drug for another 4 years, but so far, so good, thanks to your prayers.

I am very grateful for every little prayer anyone sent up on my behalf.

I also had my usual semi-annual infusion (1/2 hr. IV drip) of the bone density drug. The Tamoxifen has a side effect of causing bone density loss, so I get these IV drips twice a year. He is scheduling my first bone density Dexascan for July to see how that is working out.

Thank you all again.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you, our great healer, for your help in this matter. Please bless those who said a prayer on my behalf. And please keep me in your heart for continued good progress. Jesus, I trust in you!

Some Prayers Answered for Displaced Family

Some months back, we asked for prayers for a family (mom, her mom, and 2 teens, pets) lost their rented mobile home in a fire. They have been living in various situations over the past few months.

Finally, they have found an apartment that is happy to have both them and ALL their pets. The landlord is even building a dog run for the canines! He is making renovations and they expect to move in on April 1!

Thank you all for your prayers along the way.

They are still having issues, dealing with former landlord in court for missing goods from the burned out home and other issues, so please continue the prayers.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you so much for helping this family to all be back in one place again! Please continue to help them to rebuild their lives. And please bless everyone who said a prayer on their behalf. Jesus, we trust in you!

Prayers Answered for Friend's Sister-in-Law

Back on 3/10 (see post here), we asked for prayers for a friend's sister-in-law who underwent triple bypass and was in critical condition.

Today, the woman's daughter posted this:

"Today is discharge day for my mom!! It was tough the first few days after surgery. Seeing her hurt so bad really broke my heart. She is making great progress and has a long road ahead of her.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed and is continuing to pray. The next 6 months to a year will be a huge determination on how well she recovers.

I am thankful that my mama is still with us."

Ongoing prayers still needed for full recovery over the coming months.

Thank you all for taking a moment to offer prayers.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for your mercy and compassion in helping this woman through a difficult and critical time. Please continue to watch over her, and her family, and please help her and the family and medical team to provide whatever she needs. Please bless those who took a moment to pray for her. Jesus, we trust in you!

Update on Recent Prayer Request

Back on Feb 3 (see here) and in update on Feb 11 (see here), we posted my friend's problem and her progress. She had gone into the hospital ER with pneumonia and was also diagnosed with Covid. She was very ill, near hysteria, veins collapsed from dehydration making IV very tricky, put on meds and sent home a week later on steroids and with deep congestion, for 15 days of isolation.

I just checked her status as was so happy for her reply:

"Yes I am much better and a lot stronger. My physical therapist said I should be good to go after one more session."

Thank you all for your prayers on her behalf. She's still healing so continued prayers will be appreciated.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you so much for bringing my friend through this illness. Please bless all who prayed on her behalf. And please continue to watch over her along the way. Jesus, we trust in you.

Another Update on Recent Prayer Request

Another friend needed prayers and we requested them on Feb. 3 (see post here). She went into ER with pneumonia and was fully diagnosed with Covid. She was in the hospital about a week. Here is her update:

"Sent me home Thursday. Must stay isolated until the 15th. On steroids, still congested, a bit weak, will be evaluated for home services. The Covid hit me hard and fast. I reached the point of hysteria in the hospital. My veins collapsed and an IV couldn't be maintained until a deep dig vein was surgically reached. I did a whole lot of praying for His mercy.

I have had all the shots and boosters. The home tests all showed negative. At first I thought it was food poisoning because of the vomiting. Then coughing, sneezing, couldn’t keep even water down."

The worst is over and thank you all for your prayers. But we all know that there can be lingering side effects.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for your compassion and mercy for our friend. Please continue to help her in any way she needs your help. Jesus, we trust in you.

Update on Recent Prayer Request

Back on Feb. 3 (see post here), we asked for prayers for one friend who was having pain after hiatal hernia surgery.

I checked on her today and here is her update:

"The pain is a lot less than at first. I’m not eating a regular diet yet; liquids and soft, moist food.had to have the surgery. At least a third of my stomach was in my esophagus and was causing incredible pain."

Thank you for those prayers and please keep them going for continued healing.

Meanwhile she asked for prayers for her mom who just had a stroke! She’s 86. She was fine before… living on her own, taking care of herself.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for your compassion and healing and love for those for whom we pray. Jesus, we trust in you!

Update on Recent Request for Shelter for Pets

My friend has found someone to care for the pets for a few weeks.

However, the family still needs to find another place to live, an apartment, mobile home, whatever.

Please continue your prayers on their behalf. And thank you all for the prayers for their pets!

Sweet Lord Jesus, your little family fled to Egypt right after your birth so you know what it's like to need to find a new home. Please enlighten this family as to where to look and find that home for them ASAP. Jesus, we trust in you!

Update on January Request for Friend's Husband

Sorry to say my friend's husband just passed away.

We had asked for prayers when we discovered he was in hospice care after a bout with the flu which left him with heart issues and kidney issues.

The family tells me it was a reasonably peaceful passing, so thank you for your prayers, which I am sure helped in that way.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for being there for this dear friend.

Prayers Answered for Husband's Request

A few days ago, I posted online (not in this blog) about a friend's husband who asked for prayers for tests she was to have on Tuesday and which they had a lot of  worry and concern over. The outcome was better than expected - here are his wife's words of thanks:

"When I had my Mammogram on October 3rd, they found 7 cysts that weren't there last year. So of course I've been scared and stressed out cause of family history. But after the biopsy Tuesday and being really sore, the results came back negative this morning so I am very relieved.  Thank God! Thank you again to everyone who commented and prayed and worried along with me."

A Big Thank You from 12-year-old's Family

About 2 weeks ago (see link here), we asked for major prayers for a 12-yr-old going through major rib cage surgery.

Here is the family's "Thank You" for your prayers...these are their words, not mine...

"A special thank you to all of you who have prayed for our granddaughter, Elena, and her family. Her surgery was September 27.  She was in the hospital for three days and then discharged.  They stayed in Arizona for an additional 10 days to monitor her healing.  She and her parents arrived home on Sunday, October 9.  Elena is doing well.  God blessed the surgeon’s hands and he was able to insert two rods that are attached to her rib cage to allow her rib cage to begin growing forward.  It also relieved the pressure on her heart and she looks well.  Elena has a lot of discomfort but it gets better every day.  She will be out of school until the discomfort is reduced and her fatigue has decreased.  We are very proud of her for enduring all of this with a positive attitude.

A special “Thank you”  to all of YOU for your prayers.  We certainly felt all of them.  We will continue to pray for all of you in thanksgiving for the spiritual comfort that you provided.

Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on our family. You have provided us with more than we could ever have imagined. You have surrounded us with people who offered prayers for the healing of Elena.   Please continue blessing all of these wonderful people  in thanksgiving for all of their prayers.  Thank you, God, for prayers answered!"

Answered Prayer: Amazing Answer

Thank you all for your prayers for that family displaced by the fire in their rented mobile home. They have been on tenterhooks for a week or so, not knowing where they would sleep after this morning.

Turns out that a 5th wheel belonging to a family friend who recently passed and it was not yet sold can be taken to a friend's house which has hookups and they can stay in that for as long as it takes to deal with the situation.

On top of that, they can get their animals back from the shelter - dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens - you name it, they had it.  They were very good to humans and animals alike, this family!

Thank you all, again.

For me, this is a miraculous answer - whether or not the landlord's insurance fully repairs the rental mobile that had the fire, that's being worked on. But at least this multi-generational family can stop worrying about where they will sleep each night.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you with all our hearts for this compassionate answer to our prayers. Please continue to look after this family as the situation progresses but we are very grateful for your help in such a comfortable manner. And, please, bless all those who sent up prayers on their behalf. Jesus, we trust in you!

Answered Prayers - Amazing!

Remember that friend we were praying for who had torn tendons on both sides of his body? Well, he was finally released last Tuesday. It hasn't even been a week that he's been home, and even though he is wearing braces even in bed (except for showers) and must use the walker, and has 5 indoor cats and 2 indoor dogs, he has accomplished more than I ever dreamed possible.

He just updated me again this evening. He thought he'd need help with laundry but he managed to do his laundry and also get it put away by putting it on a chair and pushing the chair with his walker! He also got a Walmart grocery delivery and talked the fella into at least putting it just inside his door, and again, he managed to put it away by putting it on the chair and pushing the chair with his walker!

His first day or two, the braces kept sliding down and then the third day, I think, his PT person showed him some tips and now they are riding as high as they are supposed to which helps him tremendously. He stopped using the skid-proof hospital socks for walking around and is using regular shoes which he says gives him much better stability.

One neighbor is coming in to feed the pets and do litter duty because there's no way he can bend for six months. And, thankfully, his home is just one floor!

So, my friends, thank you all, each of you, for your prayers...it makes us all happy when we are blessed with seeing prayers answered. We all know that isn't always possible, so I had to share this with you.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you with all our hearts for helping this man deal with a very troublesome injury and for helping him figure ways to work things out at home. And please bless all those who took a moment to pray for him! Jesus, we trust in you!

Answered Prayer in Part

My friend gave me great news today and his Subject line said simply: THE POWER OF GOD GOES DEEP.

His words on the progress today:

"NEWS FLASH!!!!!

They will not be releasing me from rehab until some time next week. They'll re-review the case a week from today before any decisions are finalized for a new release date.

Thanks so much for all your prayers. The power of GOD goes deep."

So, at this point, not only will they hold off releasing him, but they will review the case again next week which means the release date is still negotiable depending on his progress.

Thank you, all of you, for your prayers. Prayers are still needed for continued progress. Thankfully, he is eager to keep going forward. The PT people keep holding back a bit because they said they work on a plan and if they go too fast just because he asks them to, they don't want to get sued if something goes wrong.

Sweet Lord Jesus, we thank you with all our hearts for you compassion and mercy and help for this man. Please continue to watch over this situation until it is safe for him to go home where he will be alone. And thank you that his neighbor is looking after his pets. Jesus, we trust in you!

Partially Answered Prayers - Thank you!

On May 17, we asked for prayers for a dear long time friend who fell and had excruciating pain on both sides of his body when he tried to stand upright. I've recently had very positive updates.

The first diagnosis was Marel-Lavalee Lesion. The current and final diagnosis is Bilateral Quad Tendon Rupture or Ruptured Quadriceps [Complete Tear of Soft Muscle Tissue from Tendons].

He had surgery a few days ago and the very next day, with the help of PT staff, they actually had him standing upright and taking brief steps forward and sideways. Because of youthful addictions, he was only on Tylenol at first, and now is on Aleve.

He is now in a rehab facility and walking a few steps with a walker. The pain is down considerably. It is too soon to know when he might go home but I am amazed at his progress and I know your prayers had a lot to do with it.

Thank you, all of you who don't even know this man, for those prayers.

Sweet Lord Jesus, we appreciate all you did to help this friend. At 60, this could have been a whole lot worse, so we thank you also for hearing the prayers of those who cared enough to do that for him. Please continue to heal him and to guide the medical staff so he can go home soon to the pets he and his recently deceased lifemate took in and who need him. Jesus, we trust in you!

Some Previous Prayer Requests Answered

About a week ago I asked for prayers for a friend with medical and other issues facing her. I'm happy to say some of her worries were resolved. She's not out of the woods yet and still needs a few continuing prayers but thank you all for the prayers already answered in this matter!

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing our prayers and please continue to work things out for this friend on the troubles she faces. Jesus, we trust in you.

Prayers Answered! Thank you!

Wow! That went FAR better than I ever expected.

Ok - on my breast cancer checkup, they did the physical exam and the mammogram and said there was no need for the ultrasound and they'll see me again in six months! So, I left there not needing one of the tests plus I knew that, at the moment, I'm "good." Can't ask for more than that.

She has me in their "survivorship" program now which is for breast cancer survivors rather than new patients and will see me every six months. She might, down the line, order an echocardiogram because the 15 radiation treatments last August were to the chest area and can sometimes cause some heart damage. She might also order, down the line, a genetic test to see if I have a gene that shows a predisposition to cancer and in that case, they monitor the patient even more closely.

But for now, I'm doing my happy dance.

Thank you all for your prayers!

Sweet Lord Jesus, please bless those who took the moment to say a prayer on my behalf, several of who have never even met me. Thank you for your help, your compassion and your mercy. Jesus, I trust in you!
