One is the friend who just discovered Stage 4 cancers (yes,
plural) throughout her tummy area and organs. She originally thought it was
scar tissue from previous surgery. She just went into the hospital for several
days so they could try to get the scar tissue infection under control. She just
came home and visiting nurses are training her and her hubby to deal with her
IVs - at home. I cannot even imagine these additional complications to her
life. So, yes, to me this is the most urgent of my prayer requests... that the
medical team helps her to at least manage some sort of quality of life
adjustments to help her along at this time.
The other is a friend whose father went into the hospital
many miles from where they live, a while back. He is finally into rehab but
still faces many issues. Her words on his current status: "They removed
the final vent tube so he is 100% breathing on his own again. He is doing much
better at this place. They aren't sedating him every time he moves so he is
alert. Mentally he seems to be good, no deficiency. Physically, He has 0 use of
his left arm at all, they are giving him physical therapy 5 days a week but it
is going slow. He can lift his left leg about 3" & with a little help,
can bent the left knee. He is still on a feeding tube because he still has a
trache & cannot swallow." Meanwhile, the family (my friend, her mom,
my friend's children) must travel several times a week, almost 60 mi each way.
Prayers definitely needed in this case, as well.
Sweet Lord Jesus, sometimes life and its issues completely
overwhelm us. I feel helpless in comforting my friends in their time of need.
Please look compassionately at their lives and help them in every way possible,
each in the way they need most. We trust in you...
