Holiday Weekend Plans and To-Do's

Monday, I plan a do-nothing (well, mostly) day, just relaxing, watching tv, crocheting and snacking.

But Saturday and Sunday, I really should do some upright-freezer, and also fridge, rearranging. I'm giving the crockpot a rest tonight. Finished those apples this morning. But I need to put 9 jars into the freezer. I'll do potatoes tomorrow night.

There is room in the upright but it has become disorderly and not packed in the most efficient way. I still have 3 freezer baskets from my mom - she passed on in '94! But basically, I try to keep fruit in one basket, veggies in another, and uncooked meats (fish, chicken, etc.) in the third. My one-dish meals are then in the other areas. And that usually leaves me even more space for use. But in the past few months, things sort of got jumbled in there and I want to be able to grab-and-go during the coming hot summer months without needing to keep the door open long periods of time, just trying to find something.

Ditto with the fridge.

So, those are reasonably easy tasks and they are blessed tasks because when I am done, my life with be simpler.

One other thing I should do is to set up the replacement toaster oven. I just haven't put it where it needs to set. Then I can do up some frozen fish filets and some other things.

I really should also do another charity crafting pack-and-document session. If I wait too long between these, I am overwhelmed by mixed piles of finished items.

So I am thinking that if I just do those things this weekend, my life will be a bit less complicated. Cutting our stress level is important as we get older and older.
Rolling along...
