Christmas Treat Bags

I typically do up about a dozen “treat bags” here for Christmas drops on porches in the Park on Christmas morning. That usually includes about 4 for the park staff, 2 for the nearby charity crafters, and the rest for the newsletter team and a neighbor.

It’s never much. Usually I include at least 1 handmade item. This year I really wanted to do my hanging towels again - it’s been a while. But there was not enough time to tackle that project. I did manage to crochet some small things and this morning I tucked ends in and put them into a “ready to toss into bags” spot.

Most of my folks love the laminated calendar bookmarks. I did manage to get those printed (4 to a page). I’ll laminate tomorrow after I do the newsletter draft, punch, and add a piece of ribbon.

I almost always include at least 1 gag gift. One year it was a simple bottle of water with a label I printed that said it was a “melted snowman.” Found one I like for this year. Printed the labels. Will stick them to little baggies tomorrow and fill with ... well, it’s still a secret.

Picked out a Christmas card for each person. Will sign them tonight and put them in the ready-for-assembly spot.

And I always toss in some kind of little mini-candies because I just have to!

So I do have a little, very little, to do on these tomorrow, but not much.

I just have so much fun doing these little bags each year. They are not much but these folks are here, always, in the Park, and it’s a way of saying “I Care.”
