He was in
the store, pulled his concealed weapon to stop them and protect others, and was
killed instantly.
However,
the family sweated it out until this morning. The media got the wrong info and
said an unidentified woman was killed there. His mother went over to Wal-Mart, tried
to get info, got turned aside - no help. She knew he had gone there. She waited
all day yesterday, all last night - he didn’t come home.
I worried,
too. Kept checking my email off and on during the night.
Finally,
the coroner brought his keys, etc., to her and explained what happened and that
Joseph had apparently died instantly.
My heart
aches for this family. I met his mother because of Freecycle, a Yahoo group,
years ago. As financially-disabled as I am, I am rich compared to this family.
However, they are rich in love. I have never known a more loving family.
They will
need many prayers to deal with this shocking loss. Please offer as many as you
can for the strength they will need to deal with the coming days and nights.
Father, you know how good this family is in their hearts. You know, better than any of us, what they need at this time. Please be generous and compassionate with your blessings for each family member, giving them what they need, when they need it. They are probably too heart-broken to ask for it themselves.
