The Humor in Duplicate Info Requests at Hospitals and ERs

I'm sure many of you have noticed the "duplication of information" requests you run into at hospitals and ERs. I have to laugh about it because otherwise I'd be angry and that would be useless.

You go to the first desk and give ALL the information - history, current meds, and everything except the name of your first pet.

You see the Triage nurse and give the same, exactly the same, info.

You go through the double doors and the first nurse asks you, again, for exactly the same thing.

Then the first real doctor comes in and you do it again.

You finally get up into a room and have to do it several times more.

It's like, in this day and age, can't they invent a computer system or a tablet thingie that will let all their computers talk to each other?

Of course, that might make sense and we surely can't have that...
