Wanna hear something crazy? My nephew had his unemployment hearing on Tuesday. His former boss complained bitterly in a telephone interview with them about my nephew. After the initial denial of benefits because of that, and our request for an appeal, my nephew went over there armed with as much documentation to the contrary as we could gather. The employer was a no-show.
Ok. To my way of thinking, that would mean the employer forfeited and the decision would go in my nephew's favor and he'd get his benefits, including all the back weeks. Right?
Nope. Apparently the state does not want to part with any funds if they can get away without doing so. Apparently, it now goes to THREE judges to decide his fate. We won't know for up to 10 days regarding the decision.
Meanwhile, our mobile home park is holding their Spring park-wide yard sale event. This Fri., Sat., and Sun., I'll be having one on my driveway. My 72-yr-old bones are exhausted but I've gathered a bunch of stuff to put out there. I have an amazing amount of craft items, mostly supplies and trims and patterns and such. Listed it on Craigslist. Pray for a lot of "buying" traffic for us, please?
The upside is that I lowered the level of cartons in my "middle" room in the home, to a point where I can now see over them (LOL). I am excited and plan to have another sale next month, after I go through some more cartons.
So, Dear Father, thank you deeply for the fortitude and stamina I needed for the physical activity and presence of mind I needed to do this today. Bless us, please, with folks who need what we have, so that they may benefit and we may, as well.
