Down to the Worry Wire but Trusting in Him

Tomorrow decides our immediate future. My middle-aged nephew has a hearing to contest the denial of unemployment benefits based on allegations made by his former employer.

We have been in bad financial straits since his termination the last week of February. We have applied for the unemployment, for food stamps and even for energy assistance funds. They are all holding up their decisions based on tomorrow's outcome.

Even after the face-to-face hearing is over, we will not know for at least 10 working days. They'll notify us by mail.

I have managed to get two bills deferred to next month. I will be trying to get another two deferred later this week.

This weekend, we will be having a yard sale. Our mobile home community has a Spring Park-Wide Yard sale and another one in the Fall. We hope we can pull in something from that to help. Usually, I am not very successful with these (sigh). When others pull in $200, I'm lucky to pull in enough to buy dinner at Taco Bell. But right now, every penny we get is very important.

That said, we are praying right now for a favorable outcome tomorrow, and for favorable results on this weekend with the yard sale.

Dear Lord, thank you for always seeing to our needs. We trust you now, as ever, in these troubled and worrisome times. We are not lilies-of-the-field. We are weak and frightened humans, but with you, with know, all things can be done. So, fill us with the graces and gifts of the spirit that we need to see the path you have laid for us.
