Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas - Rag Wreath

Ok, we've all seen them but most of us forget little details when we try to remember how to do these. This tutorial was mentioned today in my daily e-newsletter from CraftGossip and it is posted at this link by Ros at RosMadeMe. This post part of our series (9/21-12/24) of handmade Christmas gift ideas.

The instructions are well detailed, something I really like. I will have no trouble with this one.

I love these wreaths because there is no sewing. Be sure to read the whole thing so you do not miss any tips.

This one is sure to send us to the fabric department of our fave store, or send us searching for our rag bag.

Oh, I should mention it is from the UK. This means the metric system is used when discussing the length of the finishing ribbon. These days, that is no problem for those of us with computers. We just do a quick search for the conversions.

You can either make it in holiday colors and prints for your gift list, or use autumn or other themes.

For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.

Just wanted to say thank you for featuring the tutorial on my wreath - great fun to make and everybody seems to be impressed by the finished item :)

You are so right. People are always impressed by them. Whenever I asked someone who made one how they did it, they'd just say something like "poke some material into a wreath." That wasn't enough for me - I needed "instructions." Your tutorial, Ros, is wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
