I thought it was only for household items, cars, and so on. But I was skimming through our local Craigslist site, looking for some low cost or free crochet supplies. Lo and behold, I saw something that looked like a post for handmade crocheted products. I changed my search words a bit and found more. Some local residents had been smart enough to post there.
I checked to see how they phrased their ads, mostly to see how they safeguarded their privacy yet still directed readers to their product.
It’s not difficult. So, I posted for my paperback, and also for Bingo coasters. I’ll use them as test ideas and see if I get any bites. I noticed that some had quite a few posts, including their phone numbers, and they said things like, “To see all my posts (or products, or items for sale), do a search on my phone number.” I do not like my phone number in those posts, but I know I can come up with another option if I find I want to post more shop items.
Marketing our handmade products is a constant learning process, and I’m not ashamed to discover things a little late.
