I never expect to figure out why God does the things he does and that is not my job. Today we heard that my sister turned around completely and will be out of ICU as soon as they find a bed on another floor. I had over 30 folks praying for her, and some of them had folks praying. This time, it worked.
There have been times when I watched many folks praying for someone and it did not work. A dear friend and co-worker had been a source of support to me during my bout with Stage 3 Colon Cancer in ’99. Shortly after, he developed liver cancer. We all prayed for this wonderful and good-hearted man. His church prayed for him. The word spread. Many more prayed for him than did for my sister. He did not make it. I still miss him. His wife must still miss him. He was an extraordinary man and I was privileged to know him.
Please, Lord, continue to fill me with the faith I need to deal with your “No’s” to some of my prayers.
