I cannot believe I have been posting a blog every night since May 22. When I started this, I never thought I would be able to say something different every night. I thought I’d be lucky to manage a week. I considered just a weekly blog. But I found that talking about my love of working with my hands was enjoyable to me. I enjoy sharing my thoughts each night.
My thoughts recently have centered on what I really want from my crafting efforts. I would really like to sell more of my work, but it takes time to build up a stock of things to sell. That, plus, I am usually making things for gifts or “thank you’s”, and rarely have time for profit-making projects. It makes me feel so good when someone likes what I have made and given to them.
This year, I hope to spend more time making things for the unfortunate. I’ve covered, in one of my posts, all the good causes that are out there today. A person could spend all their waking hours just covering all the groups that would love and need the items I can make. I’m 68 and will be 69 this year, and one of the few regrets I have in life is that, in my younger days, I did spend a lot of my time foolishly. I think, now, of all I could have done and should have done. Rather than dwell on that, I acknowledge it, and use it as a stepping stone to move forward. I’ll start now to share my skills with those who need them.
Father, help me to see how I can use my skills to bring pleasure or comfort to those who need it most.
