I came home and made an appointment with the dealer for Monday
morning at 7 am and will have to leave it there for a few days. They'll have a
Lyft driver bring me back as it's across town.
But if it doesn't start Monday morning, I'll call a tow
truck. Not looking forward to the diagnosis and/or cost of this one.
More than that, I searched online for my year, make and
model, and "electrical problems" and it turns out this is pretty
common with some of these. And when it begins, it doesn't seem to have a real
solution. Some folks reported hatch back doors not shutting
enough and draining battery but no icon on dash as warning, others that cars
wouldn't totally shut off, and so on. Didn't look like they had ever found a
real solution.
In my case, it began last weekend on Saturday when I noticed
my lights didn't go out after I power-shut my trunk door so I tried again and
again and finally closed it manually with a hard slam and have kept doing that.
But twice, when I got in, in the morning, the dash display said it was
"shutting down to conserve battery" as though it has been
"on" the whole night, yet when I pressed ignition button nights
before, it said it was "off."
My concern is being somewhere with a load of food back
there, or 6 huge white bags of handmade items for homeless or babies and this
happening. Or having someone with me and having to figure out how to get them
home.
Sweet Lord Jesus, please thank the Father for me for this
happening here at home before I was out and around. Thank you for my mechanic
who quickly eliminated some causes and suggested the dealer and
"electrical" issues. And thank you for helping me stay sane while I
worried that I had done something wrong until I saw all those other similar
situations documented. Please watch over me and this situation, help me stay
calm and patient, and thank you for keeping me safe. I trust in you.
