Friday the 24th Finished Projects

Louise turned in the pretty green baby jacket and the hat for the homeless stash, and I was able to pass along the pink baby jacket. Our "invisible" member dropped off 6 scarves and an earband...

We talked about how my baby jacket sleeves are always wide at the cuff and Louise's are always normal even though they are from the same pattern. Back when we began these, I had mis-read the pattern at the sleeve cuff and made them this way. But we have no hard and fast rules about which style we each should make so I am okay that mine are wider at the cuff.

I always hated having to reach up into tightly drawn sleeve ends to find a baby's arm/hand and pull it through so I know I will continue to make mine with wider cuffs. And Louise's will work wonderfully well for times when Moms need baby's arms to be really warm and no chance of cold winds blowing through them. The agency we distribute these to works with about 100 local groups, so there is a need for all types and styles, from newborn to one year.

Even when none of us has had time to finish something, we enjoy what we have been able to accomplish along the way. We are still awed by how many items our small but comfy group has been able to make and distribute.

Can't wait for tomorrow's session. I had an especially good week in that I had quite a few things that I had begun and forgotten about, so I finished them off, finally... we all know how that goes...
