Thanking Him Tonight for Many Little Things

I was thinking tonight of all the things I am grateful for. Over the past few years, I've gone through many a spell when I was behind in utilities, didn't know if I'd even be living in my mobile home for another month because of expenses, dealing with broken pipes under the house, leaky roof pouring on my old TV, without lower dentures for over a year, repairs on my former 17-year-old car, and so many other little things.

These days, my bills are current and I have no open short-term installment loans. That alone is a wonderful blessing. Some of this is due to the fact that I get to food pantries and do an awful lot of fresh fruit and produce prepping and cooking. Some is due to other factors, other blessings. It all adds up.

It doesn't mean hard times will not come again. Anyone believing that will happen in their lives is kidding themselves. But I got through those hard times with His help. Without it, I'd probably be sitting in a corner sucking my thumb.

Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you so much for being there for me, for us. Thank you for your time on this earth, in one of our bodies, in one of our families. Thank you for living among friends and among enemies. Because of all of that, I know you understand and will help if I but ask and trust. I did, and I will. Jesus, we trust in you.
