Home Repairs, of Sorts

The guy in our park who does lots of handyman work on the side was by today.

We had trouble finding parts that worked inside the 2 toilets when the innards wore out. I finally just ordered the manufacturer’s parts - these two units apparently do not like generics. Anyhow, he came by and got them installed. Great feeling. The old ones were hissing and squealing off an on at unpredictable times. The silence is golden!

He’s out picking up his other equipment and will be back. He’ll pressure clean my clogged front porch rain gutters. They are so bad that when it rains, dirty water overflows and dribbles down onto the outer edge of the carpeted porch. It even wore away the outer edges of the carpet about an inch or so, exposing the wood there. Someday, maybe I’ll re-carpet but other things are more important.

When this is done, sometime down the line, I hope to get him to grab 3 pieces of lattice and slap them up across that side of the porch and cut back on a lot of the heat. I want to arrange a nice spot for me and Silkie on hot summer nights or even some days...

Rolling along.
