Short and Sweet - Blessings Abound

A friend recently told me she was moved by how I mention dealing with food pantry produce, among other things. I never really thought about how my sharing my experiences affected others except that in several cases, folks have told me that what I shared gave them ideas about how to deal with similar situations.

Once, years back, I tried to sell (in my free lance days) a sort of epigram to several publications. It went something like this: It’s far easier to roll with life’s punches than to punch life back.

It never did sell. But it’s the way I deal with life and its bumps.

The thing is, unless you roll over those bumps, you never see the blessings along the way. You get stuck in the rut between them.

Blessings can be as simple as a chicken quesadilla at lunch with a friend, coffee and a lemon bar with another, or as large as your car trouble being a battery instead of a costlier starter.

Father in heaven, thank you so much for the biggest blessing of all - the grace you’ve given me to see all the blessings, no matter how small, along life’s journey.
