Our Donations for the Local Homeless

Hats for the Local Homeless
One of our Friday morning charity crafters takes our hats, gloves and scarves to a local ministry who literally hands out the handmade (crocheted, knitted) items directly to the homeless. This group makes about 150-200 sandwiches every week and gives them out to those in need, and at that time, they include our little gifts.

The weather has now become quite chilly for these people at night. Even though it is only in the 40s, and sometimes the high 50s, we are in the desert. The chill, if you are literally lying on a concrete "bed" can be felt in the bones. The things we make find "homes" very quickly.

This past week, we turned over the following but we know it is only a drop in the homeless-bucket...

Hats                 128
Gloves              78
Scarves            45

We will be working on these all winter and turning more in every week as quickly as we finish them.
