Our Donation of Preemie Caps and Blankies

Blankies for Preemies

Wow, I didn't realize I haven't posted a thing about our charity crafting efforts since May.

Well, this is a good excuse for a post.

Back in May, I posted about our Spring distribution to the preemie ward of a local hospital.

This week, we dropped off another batch of preemie caps and blankets. We were thrilled with the total. In the past 5 months, our wee little group hand crocheted/knitted the following:

107  Preemie Caps
79  Preemie Blankies
2  Baby Blankets

This is the most we have ever made in that short a time. Partially, I think, it's because that's what we concentrated on this summer. We are still holding prayer shawls and prayer covers (lap covers) for patients, and it was too soon to work on things for the homeless.

Now, however, we fully concentrate on the hats, scarves and fingerless gloves for those out on the cold desert streets this winter. While there are hundreds of babies in need, and hundreds of patients, there are thousands of homeless.
