This is from Craftaholics, and the well-done tutorial is at this link. Linda, who presents the tutorial, is a guest on Lori's Craftaholic site for this one.
Don't be frightened at what looks like a lot of detail. It is all just folding, pinning, and layering. Linda's tute is very detailed and will lead you, step by careful step, to a perfect pine cone. And, each one only requires one styro egg and one sheet of paper. The trims can be varied.
These can be given to use as ornaments, or piled in a bunch of three or more in a pretty container to use as a centerpiece or mantle decoration.
It would be very easy to do these in batches. For example, cut all your strips in one session. Fold all your acorn "petals" in another session. And do all your pinning and layering in another session.
The photo is from the tutorial.
For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.
