Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas - Print on Ribbon & Ribbon Filled Ball

Tonight's project is a two-for: an ornament plus custom printed ribbon. Our ongoing series (9/21 - 12/24) of handmade Christmas gift ideas post includes links to two of Donna's (AsTheCardRackTurns) projects. One is for a filled glass (or styrene) ball ornament and one is for the instructions on how to print a personalized phrase or name on the decorative ribbon attached to the ornament.

You might choose make all of them the same to use this for an annual ornament gift for your holiday gift list. Or, you might choose to make each ball and ribbon purely personal.

The Ornament in her tute focuses on recycling an invitation, but this can be bypassed for the holidays. It is very easy to simply substitute holiday-themed ribbon for inside the ball. Or, make a hobby or sport themed ball. Another idea would be a baby theme for a First Christmas.

After the ball is made, attaching a personalized ribbon is easy with her second tute. You can say anything you want on it. This unique technique can easily be used all year long for many other events and needs. Oh, and be sure to read her instructions all the way through for the printed ribbon. You'll want to see her suggestions for the type of glue to use.

I love both of these. No sewing. You only need fabric ribbon or paper ribbon, plus glue, and your printer.

For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.

Don't forget to enter my giveaway (deadline Oct 31) for $25 in handcrafted merchandise from my Etsy store.

Thank you so much for using my idea. It most certainly could be used as a Christmas ornament! You have some great projects in your series.

Thanks for the kind words, Donna. I am having fun searching for these ideas. I just tallied up the days and I will have 95 projects by 12/24, IF I don't fizzle out before that (LOL).
