Crochet Hook Markers, and Why to Use Them

I just read a great post about making your own crochet hook markers. I never even knew I needed them until I read this old, but very good, tip on CraftGossip.

Basically, when you have to leave a crochet project midstream, it becomes a UFO (UnFinished Object) and many of us leave our hooks with the work. Sometimes, we need those hooks later, pull them away, and then when we go back to the UFO, we forget which hook we were using. Crocheters can't always rely on the pattern with the UFO to tell them which hook to use to finish it because we may have used a smaller or larger hook than that suggested so that we could fit to gauge.

So, these markers are used. Little alpha-beads are slid onto the markers, and then easily attached to the UFO. So, if I leave a project and take my G hook with me, I would simply make a hook marker by sliding a G alpha-bead onto the marker.

How great is that?
You gotta go check out this post and the ideas about how to make these markers and what supplies to keep handy for them. I am so thrilled to have found this!
