Each in Our Own Way

We should never buy into the pessimists out there who say that today's world is full of selfish, evil people and that there are no good people left. In many of my posts, I document the good that people do. Today is another example.

One of our locals stopped by with her husband. They are both senior citizens, like me. They came clear across town, about 20 miles, for this pickup. Our charity crafters had over a dozen handmade baby blankies/afghans, two baby "sets," some puzzle magazines, some preemie clothes, and a few other things. She had a group called Volunteer Angels.

Our own group has a contact for our homeless caps, scarves, and gloves, and another for long-term care residents for lap covers and shawls, so it is very nice to have someone pickup instead of me delivering our handiwork.

She feels we are doing something wonderful. Personally, I feel that she is doing something wonderful, because she is distributing individually, whereas I deliver in bulk. She has teen moms in need, and folks who are home bound.

Isn't it amazing how the Lord uses each of us, if we are open to it, in the way we are best able to help?

Father, thank you for trusting us to each do what you need us to do; fill us with your grace and gifts of the Spirit, so that we will always be willing to do your work.
