Handcrafted Book Thong with Charms

One of my recent Etsy customers surprised me with a handcrafted Book Thong with Charms and Beads. See photos.

I have never seen anything so gorgeous, so delicate. I cannot get over how she included so many of my favorite things. I also cannot get over how lightweight this lovely bookmark is. The thong is a length of purple (my fave color) satin ribbon with following charms - butterfly, hummingbird, flower, heart, faith-stone, and angel. The beads: some glittery, some pearl-y (oh, how I love pearls!). They are all my favorite things.

This gal also is part of a family store on Etsy, Beading by Bawissa. My customer's specialty is her beaded pens. I fell it love with the beaded pens (extravagant but great "special" gifts), the teeny snowflake earrings, the fairy earrings (which I like to think of as "angel" earrings), and now this bookmark! I am in BIG trouble (sigh)!

I wish I had enough room to post a photo of them, but you can see them in their Etsy shop. Each pen is not only beautifully beaded, but comes with ten refills - how amazing is that?

The comical thing about handcrafters is that none of them think what they do is hard but they see the things that others do and feel it is beyond them. I have had folks think some of my projects are very difficult. Yet I look at those beaded pens, see ALL those beads, and the way they spiral around those pens, and I know I could never do it myself.

I had to mark that shop and someone (or more) on my holiday gift list will get something special! from Beading by Bawissa (including ME when I get those tiny snowflake earrings).
