Etsy Shop Owners - Using PayPal for a Survey

Here's a link to an Etsy Forum question with a great tip on how to insert a survey into your PayPal checkout process.

One of the best ways to use it is to ask customers, as they are checking out, "How did you learn about xxxx?" You have an option to include up to 5 answers. The thread link here gives examples of multiple choice replies you can offer.

Then, after a purchase, you can find out how your customer replied, by going to the transaction, clicking on "details" and scrolling almost to the bottom of the page.

Some customers will not answer, of course, but others will. It is a more direct source of help than Google tools, which always confuse me anyway.

While in my PayPal profile, I also clicked to offer "gift" messages and also to exclude price if for a giftee.

PayPal only offers this, I believe, to Premier or Business accounts.

If you have another kind of store, other than Etsy, you should still be able to figure it out without the Etsy forum feedback in the link. If you have any trouble, email me and I'll try to help.
