Hallalujah! It was down to 135/75. I do not think it was meds alone. I worked hard at making the dietary changes, and at trying to shrug off stress and tension. They want me to come in again next week, one more time.
I realize some folks do not have that kind of drop that quickly. Some people are just prone to hypertension. In our family, though, we seem prone to high cholesterol. I get labs done this week, and will know those results fairly soon. My DB had a rough time for years with the doctor changing his cholesterol drugs constantly, and finally they both agreed to drop them and see what happened. Apparently, from what they discovered, he just naturally has a slightly higher cholesterol level than what they consider average.
The whole point is that one word: average. Everybody's genes are different. High cholesterol for one person may not be as bad as it is for another.
Anyhow, back to my joyful results. I am not going to question how it came about. I am just going to gratefully thank the Lord.
Father, thank you so much for all the help you gave me this past week, the wisdom to continue the meds, whispering to me of the dietary changes, and helping me to de-stress. Please continue to help me de-stress; that is one area I think I will need even more help with.
