Blog Hop - Encouragement

It's Tuesday once again, and Blog Hop time. The theme is Encouragement and we are asked to post passages, quotes, photos, or other items that we find encouraging. Here are mine.

I had a hard time choosing between several passages I rely on when I need encouragement, plus preparing this post, I also discovered a new one. So, I think I'll list three.

Isaiah 40:31
"...but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
This is one I have always loved because it tells me that the Lord will always raise me up no matter how tired I am in our troubled world.

Phillipians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
This one speaks for itself.

Psalm 4:5-8
"5 ...and trust in the LORD.
6 Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.
7 You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
8 I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."

I only discovered the peace in this one about a week ago. It tells me that even back then, times were troubled and people were fearful about their lives and livelihoods and did not know who to turn to. It shows that his peace can fill us now even more than when "grain and new wine" abounded.
