Etsy-Bitsy Stuff

I am learning more each day about Etsy and how to enhance, promote, and understand my shop’s possibilities. Per Wikipedia, there are “tens of thousands” of sellers, or shops. That’s a lot of competition. And yet I only opened mine in January and had a custom order the first week or so. My sales are beginning to pick up again, now that I’m learning the ropes.

Etsy’s Forums are a great way to do that. I just post a question about whatever confuses me and within hours, I receive experienced help from other shop owners. I love browsing their shops, too, and have made new friends that way.

I can’t remember where I was going with this post. I do know that I am very happy with the Etsy setup and I think I really made a good decision when I decided to set up shop there.

Over the next weeks, whenever I add something new, I’ll post a photo here and a little blurb about the item. Life has been getting in the way lately.

Maybe that’s one of the features I like best about Etsy. Unlike eBay, I don’t have to keep checking about bids and auctions and the like. Etsy takes care of everything. I state my price. If someone commits to buy, I receive an email message and can go take care of it. That’s the part I like best - I don’t have to be “in my shop” throughout the day; Etsy is my “shop manager” and takes care of that for me.

I could really get spoiled by their pampering and all the assistance available just for the asking.
From a crafty-preneur's point of view, Etsy can’t be beat.
