This is the longest I have gone without posting to this blog, and it won’t happen again. I missed this little prayer journal very much. I missed its benefits even more.
There is something special about coming to the Lord in prayer at a specific part of the day. There have been times in my life when that meant as soon as I got awake. Other times, it was in the late afternoon, on my knees, in prayer. These days, it’s just before bed.
At bedtime, I take the opportunity to look back at my day. I see what went right. I see what went wrong. And I look at what went wrong and try to see how I could have handled it much more easily if I had turned to the Lord in prayer. Or, I look at ways I can change my attitude for the better, again with prayer.
Tonight, I am a bit un-focused. Missing a whole week of posts has set me behind in the closeness I felt with this blog and the Lord. And yet, in the writing of just this last sentence, I have begun to draw near again.
Thank you, Lord, for always giving us another chance to come to you with any of our needs; thank you for listening.
