I’ve known, of course, that I am blessed with many internet friends who act like an informal prayer chain when troubles hit. However, I didn’t realize how many until tonight. One lady reminded me that she passes prayer requests on to at least ten other people. I know that each person I send to sends to others. That can amount to an amazing number of people praying for a specific outcome at any one time.
The Bible tells how the Lord is in our midst whenever two or more are gathered in his name. It doesn’t say that there has to be physical presence for this gathering of the faithful. I think the Lord would have made wondrous use of the Internet, had it been available back then.
Back to those internet friends of faith. I am very grateful to have them at all. One thing I must remember. Many times they write to me, also, for prayers. I email back to them, immediately, that I will, of course, pray. But many times, life distracts me before I can do that. There is one prayer that I can say at the moment I send that email - it’s a prayer from my next paperback, and it works fine. I just need to keep it in mind. I’ll share it with all of you -
Remembering to Pray for Others
I promised someone I’d pray for them
Please hear the prayer that’s in my heart
Please send the help this person needs
And your love and mercy, please impart.
