I have heard a few times about folks who unraveled used, old, or unfinished handmade yarn or thread projects, and re-used the materials. It is a sensible thing to do. Used and old sweaters, afghans, even potholders, doilies, etc., can be re-cycled into fresh projects. Lots of these things can be found at home. They can also be found in thrift shops and at yard sales.
The other place I need to look is at my unfinished projects that are scattered around here and there. I have quite a few of these. Some afghans, some slippers, and other items. It would be a real treat to re-cycle the threads and yarns into some gifts for the upcoming year-end holidays. Christmas gifts should be from the heart, not necessarily from the wallet.
The thread and yarn would need to be washed carefully in a way to avoid tangling. This will be a challenge, but a fun one.
Thank you, Lord, for a way to find the free materials for gifts for this year and possibly even for years to come.
