Wasting Time on the Computer

I never thought of myself as wasting time on the computer until I really added up the time I spend on non-important things. Important things are free lance writing, promoting my book (The Busy Person’s Prayer Book), a state association’s emails that I must track and answer, things like that. Non-important things are Spider Solitaire, for one.

Now, I don’t spend hours playing on the computer. But when I am truthful to myself about actual time spent, it is time wasted. So, I need to pray for guidance on this.
I have promised myself I will not play Spider Solitaire until I send at least one article and one review-request/press-release. And then, only one round. For other people, it might be other tasks they should do on their PC rather than a game or video or whatever.

The main thing is that I do recognize that I am not productive during that time. It doesn’t mean that I am not entitled to any recreation or pleasure. It just means that I should take care of business (or home or whatever) first; then I can really enjoy the games I like.

Dear Father, thank you for this computer, even though it is old, for what I can do for myself and others, but help me to know when I am wasting this resource you have blessed me with.
