The Popularity of Prayer

It is strange to see how popular Prayer is in today’s world. Considering the number of places in which we are trying to remove all references to God in our country, this is amazing. No prayer in school. The efforts to take In God We Trust off currency, coins, and public places.

In spite of the efforts to take God away, there is a surge of people praying to him, and publicly, too. The internet, especially, is flooded with sites that allow us to post our prayer requests. There are many sites that list dozens (and more) different prayers for different needs. People print Thank You notices for “favors received” and “prayers answered.”

It seems obvious that the more one side of the issue tries to take God away, the more the other side clings to him, loves him, prays and talks to him. The trend grows daily; people need God, they need the hope that prayer holds out for them, and they need to discuss it with each other.

Heavenly Father, please see our devotion to you and favor us with your kindness and your love.
