I’m not sure which I enjoy more, making and giving handcrafted items, or receiving them. I love both. When I receive something that someone made for me, and it includes a note from the maker, it is even more special.
It’s not that I expect or look for a long-winded note. Sometimes it’s just a note about how to wash and care for the gift. Sometimes it is a poem that “fits” the gift itself. Other times, it is a note that tells me how to use the gift, or what made that person give the gift to me, or even a note as to why the person first started making them for gifts. Some notes are on gift tags and cards, others are simply on note paper.
I have done something similar, off and on, when I gave my handcrafted items for gifts. I am not consistent, though. Sometimes I do, more often, I don’t. Still, I’d like to try to remember to add that personal touch. It pleases me when I receive it, and I’d like to please those who receive my gifts, too.
Dear God, please help me to remember to include a note with my handmade gifts, and especially guide me in the words to use in the notes.
