New Prayer Request for Friend's Prodigal Loved One

We've all had young adults in our families go astray and lose their way. In my own case, I did that at 21 and caused my parents to worry sick, watching me destroy myself. Mom finally disconnected from me when she found the ulcer the worry created. I don't mention details of those years, but they did include a day or two of homelessness, it did include enduring physical violence aplenty, and other things as well. When I came to my senses, she was there, waiting with open arms. We all know that Prodigal Son story in the Bible.

Tonight a dear, dear friend is terribly worried about a grandchild in this situation. Family members have all tried to help financially and otherwise. The girl just can't seem to find it in her just yet. She is facing homelessness, hunger, beatings. I especially empathize here.

For all of us who either watched, or are watching, their young loved ones in similar situations, for all of us who were that child, I ask for your prayers to help the family endure while they watch, and wait, and hope, and pray.

Sweet Lord Jesus, we hope and we pray for your compassion and mercy. Help this child find her way back to her loved ones and a safe and loving life while she still can do so. Timing is often everything in these cases. You knew so many here on earth; you were so merciful with Mary Magdalene. We turn this over to you. We trust in you.
