Water Pump - Thank you, Lord!

Most of you know my car is an ’01 and it is 17 years old and on its last legs. Somehow, it is holding together. On the 14th, I think it was, we had to do the alternator - that was original equipment. Today we did the main water pump - we had done the auxiliary water pump a year ago. Again. original equipment.

What that means is that those parts, no matter who owns the car or how well of they are, financially, those parts will go - it’s a given and expected. The only reason it seems worse when you all hear that it is happening to me is because you know I normally have no way to take care of it.

Over the past few years, I’ve had a couple short term loans. Do not confuse them with payday loans. These do pay down and these can be renewed. Which is what I did, over and over and over, when I needed to pay for a car repair, a home repair, a “me” repair. Somehow it always worked out.

And always, I am so grateful when I get a hint that something is going to happen or something needs to be dealt with. With this water pump, the little watery leak on the ground grew from the size of a quarter two weeks ago to almost cantaloupe size yesterday. No way I could wait any longer, so in it went this morning. Turned out that the timing belt was shot, as well, and would have gone very soon, which would have had really bad consequences.

Long story short: it got fixed. A friend and I have been talking about the need for a slightly newer one to finish out my days. Newer, I expect, would be an -08 or so. Anyhow, my guy sometimes runs into “deals” in his repair shop and I totally trust his judgement. So, at this point, I’m turning that over to the Lord and waiting to see what he is picking out for me.

Father in Heaven, thank you for all the times you have helped me somehow deal with expenses and especially repairs. I know you are working behind the scenes to choose a replacement for this car and I will wait patiently until it is ready. And please bless my mechanic and his team, and anyone who has ever helped me along the way, and bless them abundantly!
