Christmas Music All Year Long

You will think I am very strange but I'm not at all worried about that. I love Christmas music. I love the carols and the joy and the hope that fills that season. And I hate to give it up just because the calendar and culture says it is time to move on.

Now that I've learned how to load some CDs onto my hard drive, there are many nights when I love playing some Christmas carols while I am doing these posts, or checking my Etsy shop, or answering emails.

Stranger yet, my kitty loves it, too. Right now, I have just finished brushing her in our nightly ritual. I've brushed her, cleaned out the brush, and set out her bedtime snack. In turn, she has settled down within earshot of the music.

She sleeps gently and sweetly, listening to O Holy Night and similar songs of faith. It soothes her. It is her series of bedtime lullabies.

And me? It works that way for me, as well. What a wonder-filled way to end my day. If there was any stress along the way, these blessed words help vanquish its memory. In a moment, I'll be on my knees at the foot of my bed, saying my rosary for those I know and love and for whom I've promised to pray.

Father in heaven, we are but poor imitators of what the heavenly choir of angels must sound like. But I am grateful for the fact that I have ears and can hear it, and that I have faith and can believe in it. Thank you for this sweetly beautiful way to end my day.
