Even if you are not Catholic, most of you probably respect
and admire Mother Teresa. Well, there is a story about how she worried and even
doubted. And I am not Mother Teresa.
The story claims that at times, Mother Teresa, when answers
to her prayers were not evident, wondered if God had deserted her. So she
worried.
I try not to worry for long. I have a little saying that
my sister (now deceased) and I used to say:
“Two or three minutes, that’s a lot, then it’s time to get
off of the Pity Pot.”
A little worrying actually allows me to get the problem out
where I can see it. Too much worrying blocks me from hearing/seeing the
solution if it is already there.
Then it’s time for me to pray for an answer. I also pray
that my eyes can see and my ears can hear the answer when God presents it to
me.
Father, I know you do not put me down when I
worry. Thank you for helping me to resist the urge to worry for long. And thank
you for always being there when I need to talk to you.
