Monsoon Season Aches and Twinges

I was so happy the past two or three weeks to notice I had not taken a pain pill in all that time. No generic Tylenol, generic Tylenol Arthritis, or as rare as I need it, Vicodin.

Tonight when I was on the floor brushing my Silkie, I realized I was having trouble positioning my knee. Then I realized we are in the desert Monsoon season. It begins July 1. It’s when the wet storms creep in, afternoons and evenings, for a few months, from the southwest. Last night, several places in Vegas and Henderson were hit with hit-and-run deluges. We had a few strong downpours in my own neighborhood. They do not last long. Their strong points are that they are heavy and very wet. Usually, there is the danger of flash flooding because our sandy ground cannot absorb that much water quickly enough.

Anyway, now that I realize it is just the weather, I’ll adjust to it. If I need a generic Tylenol, now and then, I’ll just do it.

My concerns are for those with much stronger aches and pains in this weather. In a senior mobile home community, and after 14 years here, I know far too many people in that condition.

Father, please have mercy on, and show compassion for, my friends during this monsoon season. Help my friends to be careful and move more gently during this time, and give them the patience and strength to wait it out and get through it as easily as possible.
