Plumbing Prognosis for Future

Well, the plumber is almost done. He just found another leak, very small, and is dealing with that for me, too.

He showed me the rest of the pipes. They are a crusty corroded mess. Our water here is terrible. The pipes are galvanized and subject to that corrosion. I will definitely need a re-pipe as soon as I can deal with the cost.

The good thing is that all this has been discovered before any pipes burst and caused other damage to the home as well. This is something I am really grateful for.

Oh, and he found that one of my A/C vent ducts under there was missing a top piece. The funny thing is that in all the 14 years I’ve been here, over and over I’ve told contractors that our back bathroom floor vent delivers no heat or air. None of them ever figured out the reason. This guy just did. He even managed to close it off for me. He showed me, while I was standing in the bathroom, how I could even see the daylight at a certain angle from that vent. Maybe this will help the A/C cooling bills a little this summer. Nice thought. Nice guy.

Father, you have blessed me with warning signs along the way regarding troubles with my pipes under the home. I am very grateful for this. I will keep trying to see which resources I might use to pay for the repairs. I am very grateful for this current repair and that this plumber has been so thorough in fixing more than he bargained for when we discussed price. Please continue to bless me and show me the way.
