Free Prayer Sunday - Patience in Traffic

Sorry this post is a day late. I didn’t really become a driver until I was 40, and I am usually proud to say that careless drivers do not make me so angry that I make mistakes.  However, I do make mistakes for many other reasons, as do we all.  And although I do not rant and rave at careless drivers, I often find myself mentally calling them "idiots." I find that the words in this little prayer cover all of us: riders, drivers, careful as well as careless.

I'm marching through my self-published Busy Person's Prayer Book, front to back. This prayer is from the category, My Faults. Earlier, I posted prayers from the Work category (about jobs, layoffs, etc.), prayers from the Helping Others (homeless, terminally ill, etc.), and Hurting Others (judging others, etc.) categories.

Patience in Traffic
Some drivers are easily distracted
And sometimes, I am, too.
Protect us all from each other
Help us give each other the respect we are due.

Please do not pass it around without giving credit to the author (me) and where it was published - a line like this will do:   by Evelyn Mayfield, in the Busy Person's Prayer Book. The book is available for download for less than $4.

Upcoming free prayers in this category, My Faults, include the following prayers:
Shrugging Off Insults/Gossip
The Urge to Gossip
Worrying About My Appearance
Too Many Chores
Craving Appreciation
To End Procrastination
