There are always people who, purposely or accidentally, seem to say the right thing to rile me. They seem to know what buttons to push. And I always seem to grab the bait. Knowing this, I try to remember to say this prayer the first chance I get, before I fall into their trap.
I'm
marching through my self-published Busy Person's Prayer Book, front to back.
This prayer is from the category, Hurting Others. Earlier, I posted prayers
from the Work category (about jobs, layoffs, etc.) and prayers from the Helping
Others (homeless, terminally ill, etc.) category.
When
Someone Baits Me
There’s
someone who I know
Who
baits me time and time again
Please
help me to resist that bait
To
have faith in you, and not give in.
Please do
not pass it around without giving credit to the author (me) and where it was
published - a line like this will do:
by Evelyn Mayfield, in the Busy Person's Prayer Book. The book is available for download for less than
$4.
I'll be
posting the prayers in the next category, My Faults, starting next week. This
category will include the following prayers:
To Avoid Temptation
To Change Eating Habits
Waiting for Appointments
Patience in Traffic
Shrugging Off Insults/Gossip
The Urge to Gossip
Worrying About My Appearance
Too Many Chores
Craving Appreciation
To End Procrastination
At the top
of this page, simply click on Free Prayers what we've posted so far, or scroll
down the right sidebar and click on that tag.
