Free Prayer Sunday - Judging Others

I used to think that I was not judgmental, until one day when I recalled all the times that I really do judge others.  All along, I never thought of it that way. Yet, I can easily see how my comments or thoughts about the actions of others is just that. It reminds me that I am hurt when others judge me and that I can easily hurt someone else in the same way. I might not ever stop completely, but this prayer helps me keep it to a minimum.

I'm marching through my self-published Busy Person's Prayer Book, front to back. This prayer is from the category, Hurting Others. Earlier, I posted prayers from the Work category (about jobs, layoffs, etc.) and prayers from the Helping Others (homeless, terminally ill, etc.) category.

Judging Others
I tell myself that I do not judge
As some folks often do
But my criticism is exactly that
Help me to see folks the way that you do.

Please do not pass it around without giving credit to the author (me) and where it was published - a line like this will do:   by Evelyn Mayfield, in the Busy Person's Prayer Book. The book is available for download for less than $4.

I'll be posting the last of the prayers in the Hurting Others category (When Someone Baits Me) next week. Then I'll start the prayers in the next category: My Faults. This category will include the following prayers:
My Faults:
To Avoid Temptation
To Change Eating Habits
Waiting for Appointments
Patience in Traffic
Shrugging Off Insults/Gossip
The Urge to Gossip
Worrying About My Appearance
Too Many Chores
Craving Appreciation
To End Procrastination
