I love the following quote (I've mentioned it here several times before) about how God answers prayers:
“God always answers prayers. Sometimes it’s ‘yes.’ Sometimes the answer is ‘no.’ Sometimes it’s ‘you gotta be kidding.’”—Jimmy Carter, former U.S. President
I can relate to that. For that reason, when I pray for a special intention, I try to always add, at the end, "yet not my will, but the Lord God's, be done." And I turn over the problem. It is not always easy to wait for it to be resolved in God's time. In hindsight, however, I can usually see the wisdom of his solutions.
Today, the answer was quick and positive. This doesn't happen often, so I am publicly thanking him, and also hoping it encourages others to never give up on their own prayer requests.
The odd thing is that sometimes I value the answers to my simplest prayers much more than answers to big requests. It's odd how often the smaller things in life stress us out and make life difficult. Often, solutions to these stress problems are more gratifying than larger favors.
Sweet Lord Jesus, thank you for hearing my plea this morning, and for the quick reply. I am very grateful. Please hear the prayers of all those who read this, as well, and work on their behalf for favorable answers to their problems.
