Life's a Roller Coaster Ride At Times

I was thinking tonight about how life is often a "two steps forward, one step back" type of movement.

Sometimes I feel like I'm on a roller coaster, a really convoluted one with lots of ups and downs, twists and turns, and even some upsy-daisy upside down angles.

I know it all works out in the end. That doesn't keep me from momentary worrying.

Tonight, for example, I can sort of pay all the bills by the end of this month. But maybe not because we do need gas for the car and food for the tummies. Still, I know it will all come together and when I look back, later, at this week, I will see how God worked it out for us.

Thank the Lord we are finally "current" on everything. No past-due notices this month. That is a real treat.

Then again (here comes the deep dip in this roller coaster ride), Frank's unemployment ends in two weeks. We thought that by this time, we'd have all the non-fixed bills paid off. Unfortunately, we keep needing to deal with that pesky issue of food and household supplies (deodorants, tissues, dental needs, detergent, etc., etc., etc.). Plus the realistic nature of managing to get those utilities, etc., to a state of up-to-date meant that we often had to pay more each month than normal.

We have been thrilled (here comes one of the wonderful "highs" of the ride) with the power bills. This is the first year in the 11 years we have been in the mobile home that it has been less than $300 a month in the summer.

So I think I'll just make sure my seat belt is fastened, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ride. The person operating this equipment is an expert and I have complete trust in how he will take care of us.

Dear Father, I know you are working everything out for us. Help us to keep our wits about us during the rough times and thank you for the grace we receive that enables us to enjoy the pleasant times.

Amen!
We too have been in this place many times, and have seen the LORD meet our needs. I will also pray today for you and hubby~
I like your post and your analogy! Really good.

Thanks for your support and comment, Cathy. Oh, and Frank is not my hubby (LOL), he's my middle-aged nephew who is actually more like a son to me, though not even blood-related. Helped his mom raise him from when he was 10 and he's now 56. Where does time go?
