Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas - Spool Doll Nativity

I really must include a few projects related to the "reason for the season." This cute little spool doll nativity group is perfect for anyone on your list with limited space: a long-term care center, for instance. It is small enough for a work station or for a very small apartment or home. This is part of our series (9/21-12/24) of handmade Christmas gift ideas.

I found this over on HolesInMyShinyVeneer, posted by Diana, at this link. It was mentioned in CatholicIcing.

The photo tutorial is very good and easy to follow. The post mentions it for children and, yes, it is a great gift for kids. However, as mentioned above, it is also wonderful for anyone in limited living quarters. I am very fond of using either kid projects or projects for kids when the finished item looks as good as these do.

This set is Part 1. At the site, you will find a link to click through to Part 2 for shepherds, wise men and an angel.

These are so easy to make and so thoughtful to give. It is something that can be kept and brought out from year to year. And, it reminds us of why we are excited about the coming celebration.

For other projects in my series, just look along the right sidebar for the label "Christmas Gift Projects." I hope to post only tips that do not require knitting, crocheting, machine sewing, tatting, embroidery, or any other skilled technique.

If you are feeling too crushed for time to make your own gifts this season, check my Etsy shop for items for your gift list.
